International Institute for the Study of Nomadic Civilizations
At the initiative of UNESCO was established by an agreement concluded on 16 September 1998 between the governments of Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, Mongolia and Turkey in order contribute to broad scientific and scholarly research in various relevant fields of both natural and social sciences on the knowledge, conservation and restoration of the material and immaterial heritage of nomadic peoples.
